What is the rental process?

First, give us a call. We’ll provide you with current unit availability and prices. If you decide to rent from us, we’ll ask you to review and sign our rental agreement. It is not a long term agreement. The agreement is month to month and you can leave anytime.  For your convenience, we can meet with you at our storage facility office, or if time allows, we mail or email the rental agreement to you. Your first month’s rent and an administrative fee are required when the rental agreement is signed. We’ll work hard to meet your storage space needs and schedule.

What size storage units do you have?

We rent a wide variety of storage unit sizes. Our smallest storage spaces are great for storing boxes and clothing. Our largest storage warehouses can hold an automobile or the furnishings of a four-bedroom house. Please view our storage unit sizes.

How much does storage space cost?

We pride ourselves on the affordability of our storage space units. Monthly rates for storage lockers depend on the location and size of the unit you select. Climate-controlled units cost more than our non-climate controlled units. Please contact us for a price quote on a unit that will fit your specific needs.

Are my items insured?

Like most self-storage warehousing facilities, we do not provide insurance for the items in your storage unit. However, your homeowners or renters insurance may cover your possessions while they are in a self-storage facility. Please check your insurance policy or call your insurance agent. You may purchase insurance provided by Safestor through a Super Storage store.

Are the storage units dry?

Yes. We’ve taken special precautions to keep your items dry. Each facility is designed to move rain and surface water away from the self-storage units. The storage unit floors are specifically engineered to prevent water from entering under the storage unit doors.

Are the storage units heated and cooled? Climate Controlled Storage

We have climate controlled storage units that range in size from 5′ x 5′ to 10’x 20′. These unit are designed to control temperature and humidity. Consider renting a climate-controlled space for items that may be affected by temperature or humidity. For instance consider the following items: leather, furniture, musical equipment, pianos, crystal/glassware, books, electronics, equipment/devices, computers, fine linens and clothing, mattresses, business files/records, oil paintings, pharmaceutical products and cleaning supplies. It’s also much more pleasant to access a heated storage space in the dead of winter and a cool one in a summer heat wave!

How long can I stay - or do I have to stay?

As long as you wish. The minimum rental period is one month. Our rental agreements are based on month-to-month tenancy. We ask only for a 10-day termination notice prior to the end of your last month in our storage unit.

Do I provide my own lock?

Our lock requirements depend on the storage facility location, your needs and what you select. Tenants may provide their own padlock or can purchase a lock at any facility. We feel that padlocks provide an adequate level of security, but we recommend cylinder locks as these are extremely hard to remove without the key. A cylinder lock can be purchased from our storage facilities at low cost.

Again, we feel that our cylinder lock and latch system is better than the typical padlock/latch system for drive-up self-storage facilities. The trend throughout the self storage warehouse industry is towards cylinder locks as a deterrent against theft.

When can I access my storage unit?

You have access to your storage unit from 6am to 10pm, 7 days per week.

Do I go into a building to access my storage unit?

All our self-storage units open to the outside or inside with access at ground level. Our inside units are designed to control temperature and humidity. They are heated and cooled. You can drive your vehicle right up to the door of your public storage unit or the building. We have dollies and moving carts for your use.

When do I pay my rent?

Your rent must always be paid prior to the beginning of the next rental period. If paid after the 5th day each month it is considered late and a late fee is applied. You can pay monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or yearly. Payments can be made by cash, check, credit card or money order. You can pay automatically through automatic monthly debits to your credit card, debit card, checking or savings account, or you can pay online.

Can I change to a different size storage unit?

Yes. If your needs change, we’ll make every effort to facilitate your move to a different size mini storage unit.

Are there any items that I cannot store?

Yes. You cannot store food or other perishable items; flammables, explosives, hazardous wastes, etc. Our lease document describes these restrictions in more detail. Please contact us if you have questions on mini storage of a particular item. Climate controlled storage may be better for some stored items.
